  1. Attention - Plug-in Hybrid Owners

    General EV Discussion
That wasn't my recollection. I just checked and I paid £28.800 August 2017 for the GTE Advance Golf admittedly after a short wait. Sadly it never stood up to the advertising hype, rarely going more than 22 miles on battery alone whereas the Volt easily does 36 (in the summer) which happily...

Strange to include the VW PHEVs while VW have invested so much in moving to BEVs.
  3. Home battery and/or Zappi?

    General Charging Discussion
BTW - for anyone who is interested I did post an example of how to use the Zappi/Hub (yet unpublished) API to their new forum. I have now built on that managing the Zappi based on Powerwall SoC and how loudly my wife shouts ...j/k about the wife(evolved selective hearing) App API example...

He also said they will be doing a version with current detection integrated (like the Zappi and new Podpoints) for about £100 premium

...and pay many hundreds of pounds more for the V2 than the V1. OK you may save on a new requirement for a Type B RCD (with built in dc capability/detection) or “RCD Type A and appropriate equipment that provides disconnection of the power supply in case of DC fault current above 6mA” - either...
  8. Home battery and/or Zappi?

    General Charging Discussion
The Zappi will work with PV and AC battery and only two CTs. One must be connected to the grid flow. If you connect the second to PV you can run it with the Limit to Gen setting. This configuration does not require an AC battery CT. You could alternatively just clip the second CT to your AC...
  9. Home battery and/or Zappi?

    General Charging Discussion
Lifestyle, Car battery capacity, PV size, House base load and plenty of other factors apply. e.g. what good is a Zappi if most of the year you drive to work in the dark and return in the evening in which case a battery may be a reasonable option.

@Woodulike Thank you for that lead. Charlie was excellent with tips on boxes to try:- Juice Box, kits like Ebee and also some useful areas to follow up such as OCPP. I now have enough ideas to play with for months!

That is exactly what I try to do. I read the weather forecast from api.openweathermap.org and use it in conjunction with Tensorflow to attempt to predict the following days solar gain. The goal is to charge the batteries with just enough off-peak power to last the day until the next off-peak...

Please express your concern regarding the API to Chris Horne ([email protected]) Myenergi Commercial Director as two weeks ago he wrote the following in an email to me:- We do have an API but this was specifically developed for a government funded project that we are involved with on...

    General Charging Discussion
No, I have got it to work but only with the Zappi set to "Limit to Gen" and CT2(s) clipped to the PV inverters (Legacy V1 configuration) Moving CT2 to the battery feed and setting "Avoid drain"/"Avoid Charge"/"Avoid Both" resulted in Eco+ failing to start even when exporting. I recently...

    General Charging Discussion
Oh … and the other issue which I reported over a year ago is still outstanding: I requested they store the charge mode in NVram as the Zappi returns to Fast following a power cut, potentially sucking the life out of the house batteries. If you don't have house batteries this may result in your...

Yup, but slightly different symptoms. On 2104 if I change to Eco+ while the car is charging it ignores the setting and continues merrily on at 7.5kW. I have to unplug the car and plug it back in for it to register the mode change. It would be interesting to see whether the App (if it arrives...
