  2. At what "slow" speed would you bail out onto the hard shoulder ?

    General EV Discussion
How it was phrased, figure of speech.. .. In fact, i passed the car giving it a wide berth straddling lane 2 / 3 and i may of slowed down a little ;) only passed it with around 40mph difference at a guess (traffic was light.).. perfectly safe to do so when you have seen the car positioned...

Travelling south on the M6 on New Years day, (light traffic) spotted a car in the distance ahead which we were approaching in rapid time while we was travelling at approx 70mph... As we got closer I saw It was a silver Leaf. Road conditions where light rain but plenty of spray but decent...

Where did i say using full 280BHP ? with 280bhp come torque. Struggling to slow???? you could be driving 10mph and have zero grip on summer rubber but have 80% grip with winter rubber. You can struggle to stop at any speed above 0mph.
  8. Merc estate hybrid

    General EV Discussion
C350e will always keep 20% battery available for normal driving topped up by regeneration or the in car charge method if you decide to enable that I agree the MPG is not there, but to be fair thats not why people buy these if you have a fuel card.
  9. Merc estate hybrid

    General EV Discussion
The Merc B class BEV has a range of plus 100 miles... so thats not much diff to a Leaf is it ? With a PHEV the aim is not to run on EV 24/7, its to strip out the non economical element of a ICE. Not many people will wait for 2 hours plus in a service station... but will in towns and cites if...
  10. Merc estate hybrid

    General EV Discussion
It will of been a C350e estate - Range of 20 miles max on EV and can charge off a rapid which is perfect as it gives more charge options. Takes around 2 and half hours to charge. 48 co2 (cheap tax!! ) and 280 BHP !
  11. PHEV blocked

    General Charging Discussion
It's first come first served in my opinion. When buying a pure ev you make that choice that you may not be able to charge on instant arrival. Thats the risk you take and purchase the car on that basis. If you are not happy about that you have the option to choose another car. It's irrelevant...
  12. Petition to UK Government to make ICEing illegal

    General Charging Discussion
Are you wanting to ban all PHEV's or just hybrid cars ? Theres too many local restrictions for this, just like disabled bays on private land. Its upto the owners to put a process in place. If you are wanting PHEV's banned too.... you are having a laugh!
  13. The 85-mile EV range Golf GTE

    General EV Discussion
You can hire a basic corsa from £25 a day and return a decent MPG.
  14. Got a Mercedes PHEV coming

    General EV Discussion
But then, lets just say a PHEV user needed to park up and go do "something for an hour or 2", FREE parking at a charger plus the cost of electric could reduce the cost per mile when in some cites it costs a fortune to park per hour in convenient locations. Food for thought... :sneaky:

Coming from a BMW E60, I have ran winter rubber each colder season for the last 5 years and same on the VW Golf we have. As the merc is a lease car, the lease company are saying they wont fit winter rubber or allow them.... i have not challenged them properly yet... but im not impressed.. PS...

    General Charging Discussion
Hi, Got a C350e on order and require some advice from the experts regarding home chargers and which "cards" I need for remote charging. Im thinking of a Rolec Tethered charger, 32amp rather than the 16amp due to future proof. - is this a good option? I will want to charge the car at...
