  1. Hello ! New member thinking of a used C Zero or Ion

    General Groupe PSA EV Discussion
We sold our iON about 6 months after we purchased it because the wife hated it and the range wasn't really suitable. We sold it for £4200 with 14k We now have a Leaf 30 which is great.
  2. Nissan Major Service

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
I've got our Leaf booked in at the end of the month for its first "Major" service and from what I've been told the only thing different from a minor service is a brake fluid flush. The first service took 2 hours 15 minutes which I wasn't happy about as I was told it would be an hour so I waited...
  3. Nissan Connect EV

    General Nissan EV Discussion
Same for me too, invalid username/password showing in the EV connect app
  4. BMS Software update for 30kwh leaf owners ?

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
    I also have 4NR6A on a 66 plate 30kwh Leaf.
  5. A303 - Coverage of A303 and similar long distance roads

    Charging Locations
The Nissan dealer (F J Chalke) in Wincanton has a Rapid Charger. There is a Morrisions and a KFC within walking distance too.
  6. Amazon Alexa for Nissan Connect

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
I heard that Nissan are launching an official Alexa skill in the near future so it will interesting to see how well that works. Unfortunately i don't have any plans to make mine public because i don't have time.

  8. Lyme Regis rapid

    Charging Locations
Card = Credit/Debit Card not RFID. I don't have any RFID cards and only use apps on my phone and I use the following providers: CYC (Charge Your Car) Ecotricity (Electric Highway) GeniePoint (Chargepoint Services) Polar Instant (Chargemaster)
  9. Where to site home charger

    General Charging Discussion
I would put it near the door and settle for only being able to charge it when it you reverse in. That's what we do and it doesn't cause us any problems. Remember you probably won't charge it every night so the odd forward facing drive in where you can't charge shouldn't be an issue.
  10. ChargePoint Genie

    General Charging Discussion
I've used ChargePoint Genie a number of times (not in Cumbria) and I've never had any problems. Their lack of a dedicated app isn't really a problem as the web app works fine. A tip though, I've added a shortcut in my "EV Charging" folder on my home screen to give me quick and easy access to...
  11. Only idiots run out of battery - Or so I thought :(

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Thinking about it now the days prior this happening was a little out of the ordinary, on Friday the wife used the car to go to work as normal but forgot to put it on charge overnight. She wanted to go to Bournemouth on the Saturday so she took it and did a quick 15 minute rapid to get her back...
  12. Only idiots run out of battery - Or so I thought :(

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
I don't think it's completely out of action as the lady I spoke to at CYC said it had communicated back earlier that morning, I think it's just in a spot where the mobile signal is unreliable. I'm sure an RFID user would have no trouble charging.
  13. Only idiots run out of battery - Or so I thought :(

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Spot on @richtrash, it was the Allenview Car Park Rapid in Wimborne Minster that wasn't able to communicate.
  14. Only idiots run out of battery - Or so I thought :(

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
That's the thing, it was a 40 MPH dual carriageway and when it went in to Turtle I'm sure it wouldn't go above 30, it felt really slow. It probably wasn't helped the car didn't charge overnight, I have put it on charge now and will leave overnight that should help balance the cells. I'll...
  15. Only idiots run out of battery - Or so I thought :(

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
I have owned an electric car since March this year and on several occasions have come close to running out of battery but until today have never been stranded. I had to pop in to Poole this morning, this is a 50 miles round trip and we charge our Leaf 30 overnight so this journey is normally...
  16. Will the next Leaf really have a 60kWh battery?

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Why does every comment and forum post keep saying the next Leaf will have a 60kWh battery? Has this been officially announced somewhere or is it pure speculation? Based on the new Leaf just announced with its 40kWh battery the capacity pattern appears to be in stages of around 10kWh. What makes...
  17. Tesla helps Hurricane Irma evacuees with a temporary software update

    General Tesla Motors Discussion
Intel have been doing the same with their CPUs for years. No one gives a rats ass, you get what you pay for regardless of what it is capable of.
  18. What it worth?

    Electric Vehicle Classifieds
I'm not really a big fan of PCP (never had one) as I've always liked to own my car and then sell it on when I fancied a change. With the Leaf I financed it with a personal loan over 5 years at a cost of £195/pm which is cheaper than a PCP deal and I don't have the mileage restraints and the car...
  19. What it worth?

    Electric Vehicle Classifieds
I paid £14500 privately for ours a few months back. It's a 30kWh Tekna with a 3.3 charger in White with 9k miles registered Nov 16. Seller wanted £17500 for it originally :)
  20. App based charging (rubbish); an obvious alternative....

    General Charging Discussion
No and could handle intermittent data outages like an ATM does and function perfectly well. This is the system we currently have and most people complain about it because you have to have a different card for each provider. We already have this, it's called a 3 pin plug. When was the last time...
