  1. what charger for schedule charging?

    ZS EV
Have you info on the "latest software". I have just ordered a ZS exclusive for 1st April. This is after 6 years of Leaf 24, then Leaf 30 6.6 rectifier. The Leaf has always had a built in charge timer, and I have changed to Octopus GO which gives me power at 5p a unit between 12.30 am and...
  2. Very close on a 30kwh Leaf purchase

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Hi, Evnovice. Sorry to be so long in replying It's a grey metallic finish - the one in the middle - I did a talk to a local business - these are the CO2 emissions of all the cars in their car park. Mine would now be a zero, because I'm on the Octopus renewable "Go" tariff - 5p a unit 12.30-04.30.
  3. Very close on a 30kwh Leaf purchase

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Did you buy it? If not you could have my 17 plate Tekna 30kWhr 6.6 charger, 22k miles for around £13.5k. 33 months since first reg. Not scruffy, full set of interior mats, boot liner and side protection strips. I'll MOT it. Full service history, and new tyres on the front. I've not leaf spy'd...
  4. Rapid Charger at Llandovery

    Charging Locations
Any idea how long WG will take "looking"? They started ages ago!
  5. Mid Wales Public charging

    Charging Locations
So we get another on the A55 - B***** all use to those who use the A483!
  6. Mid-Wales just got a bit easier for Zoes; Welshpool and Llanfair Railway

    Charging Locations
Life's hard for everyone in mid Wales. They keep saying they're doing something, but nothing ever happens. What's to stop someone, anyone, installing rapids in Newtown, Llandrindod, Builth etc. Compare the zap map of Wales with the same for Scotland!
  7. MG eZS is here... Ish

  8. Front strut top bearing failure

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Just looked at mine - full of water, so thanks for the thread, I'll be fixing this tomorrow
  9. Scotland's Infrastructure to get another 200 Chargers!

    Charging Locations
Good grief - wouldn't it be just great if Wales was as proactive as Scotland. Still a desert in Mid Wales.
  10. Charge points to come to central Oswestry

    Charging Locations
I see I started this thread in September 2017. The Council have at last decided to go with Instavolt. I hope no one's been waiting for a charge. If it takes this long to do something which costs nothing, just think how long it takes to do something which requires expenditure.
  11. Petition: "Self Charging" Hybrid

    General EV Discussion
Thank you Alex for making this factually clear. To add to this, if your electricity supplier guarantees to purchase only renewables (Ecotricity, Octopus etc), they are encouraging the expansion of renewables. It is possible to argue the case in various ways, but 250g/kwh is a maximum. The...
  12. CPS Genie in Haverfordwest coming soon

    Charging Locations
YeeHaa - might just be able to get from Oswestry to Milford Haven, with a small diversion. Been waiting for this for 4 years. Might actually be able to get rid of my ICE, which I have kept purely for this trip.
  13. Back to I.C.E.?

    General EV Discussion
Well said 1.21Gw. - but it seems that the dieselheads are still monopolising this thread. What on earth does the life of a jaguar engine have to do with SpeakEV?
  14. EV owning numpties - is this the new normal?

    General Charging Discussion
How do we define "numpties". Just been to Ikea, Wednesbury. Both EV bays occupied, one by a Leaf, one by an Audi. Didn''t check whether it was a PHEV Audi. But neither was plugged in. So are there EV drivers who say "here's a nice bay reserved for me right next to the entrance", forgetting...
  15. Rapid Charger at Llandovery

    Charging Locations
This could be good. I have been banging on about the 109 mile gap between Oswestry and Carmarthen or Pont Robert for ages on the A483/A40 route to Pembrokeshire. I could probably make LLandovery with my 30Kw Leaf, but not good for anyone with a 24kW. We need one more centrally - Builth Wells...
  16. Does 'B' use more power to move?

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Interesting one. I'm sure the electricity use is governed only by the motion of the car. However, after 4 years of Leafing I have evolved what I think is the most economical use of the B and D. I don't use Eco because it makes the car feel sluggish. I drive in D most of the time, but slip...
  17. Confused about which Leaf might be best

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Right choice Claire. To really enjoy driving use a very light foot in D mode, and slip into B when you approach a roundabout, 30 mph zone etc. You'll find the car rolls along very nicely, and you can aim at 4miles/kwhr. Driving in B or Eco feels as though you've still got the brakes on. I...
  18. 6 new bays at motorway junction - what would you spec?

    Charging Locations
This thread illustrates what a total shambles the provision of charging infrastructure is in this country. Just like just about everything else government puts its hand to - Brexit, Railways, the Health Service,Social care, Windrush, Building Regs. We seem to have individual local authorities...
  19. 100,000 miles in a 2013 Nissan Leaf.

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Well done Steve and what an interesting thread. And thanks for all you contributions to SpeakEV over the years. Look forward to your post at 150,000
  20. Holidays in Pembrokeshire

    Ice Breakers
Bit wierd - I get the same as a Magnamundian on my desktop PC. Whatever, this has been a long time coming. The situation in mid Wales is dreadful, but there are signs of movement - Instavolt has sought planning permission for a rapid at Brecon. There's a 7kW post at St David's visitor centre...
