As them now without saying why. 'Phone them on the pretext of asking if they had any records of their findings, get them to confirm the date over the 'phone, ask them for a copy ... while recording it ....
  2. The zero-carbon fantasy

I am not sure what your faux objection is. Point 5 summarises "Electric vehicles are a crucial part of the UK's attempts to drastically reduce transport's emissions. Yet they are no panacea." Not sure what your beef is. In no way does that statement say 'don't bother with electric cars' as you...
  3. e-NV200 neighbours complaining when van is charging!

    Nissan e-NV200
So, you returned to the vendor within a month and asked for a repair which they refused to entertain as they did not understand the fault. You subsequently had the fault repaired elsewhere. Nothing else really matters. Send them the bill and request for refund, or you will consider a small...
  4. e-NV200 neighbours complaining when van is charging!

    Nissan e-NV200
So, if your complaint is recorded within 6 months, as a service request, and it was eventually identified and rectified, the vendor would have to prove it was not present at time of sale. The question would be if there had been any refills done immediately prior to sale, that would nail the...
  5. e-NV200 neighbours complaining when van is charging!

    Nissan e-NV200
If you want to risk the effort and court fee, items sold in the UK are subject to a 'of merchantable quality' clause that applies for 6 years. The 'warranty' is what the manufacturer offers which bypasses the vendor. Your claim would be against the vendor, and it would be the vehicle was not...

I got back [snip]; " You recently sent us an enquiry for a Hyundai Ionic that we had placed on our website yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, unknown to us, these rates were based on a limited batch of vehicles. The offer came from a leasing company called Brindley Leasing, they own a number...

  8. Cheap Deals Thread

Maybe that's exactly what the Gov should do rather than dish out market - distorting grants. Let's see if we can promote an open book sort of market, where we negotiate the deal based on percentage over invoice price to dealer.
  9. Cheap Deals Thread

    General EV Discussion
The best deals ever were in the early days, of heavy subsidies/losses, for the Zoe which worked out at 15p/mile all in. These Ioniq deals are (were) around 23p/mile, which is slightly more than I am paying for the Soul, ATM.

Well, that Ioniq link is no longer working and if you push the site towards Hyundai it says the site can't be reached. Is that what others are seeing too?

    Volkswagen ID.3
Rear drums are a good solution, but the best brakes are the ones designed to be most easily serviced. I have had rear drums that have been a nightmare and discs that have been a breeze. But that is not the norm.

  13. The ethics/morality of zoological parks

    Off Topic and Banter
Reminds me of a book I once read called "Blackfoot Physics", decades since I read it and not sure where it has gone, but my recollection was of a very interesting book about how Native Americans see the world. It is mind expanding to recognise there are different ways of thinking and I have used...

Because legal articles on human rights do not preclude it. But if there was a particular group of humans whose habitat had been destroyed and they were going to die for lack of a suitable habitat, then, yes, I would offer them an alternative, which may not be ideal but may keep them safe.
  15. The ethics/morality of zoological parks

    Off Topic and Banter
I think you have managed to reverse the meaning of what I said there by underquoting me. I am saying I think probably an argument for the education of children would be adequately served by zoological samples of the endangered or practically extinct species only, which I do think there is a...
  16. The ethics/morality of zoological parks

    Off Topic and Banter
Not always. Species have become extinct before humans arrived, y'know? I think it is more nuanced than that, and in some cases species are so rare we are still 'discovering' them, Of course, there are also examples of species whose habitat has been so severely compromised by human expansion...
  17. Ampera 5th year service headache - help

    First Generation Ampera and Volt
I am not aware of any dealer doing a full coolant change properly, that is to say, the right price, the right amount of fluid used, the right amount of time taken with no air bubbles left in it afterwards. One, or all, of those things seems to be absent in every account I've read.

    First Generation Ampera and Volt
I've previously explained why it is that price, if they do it right. It is a long complicated process.

I was hoping to reach 40k.... starting with 6.3mm didn't help.
  20. Kona - 10 imperfections

    Hyundai Kona
errr... didn't say there was, but that is what I think for the reason for the unnecessary 5k tyre rotation. 80% wear in 16k miles doesn't sound great. Did they come with 8mm? My Soul came with 6.3mm tread depth!!
