  1. Hyundai Kona
I got my 2021 ultimate EV two days ago. Went to charge my Kona today. First stop was at a level 2 charger. Did that for an hour at 7kw. Then we went to try a Level 3. Found a ChargePoint charger but had issues. They did a reset and still couldn't charge (found out afterwards that charger...

What is the slowest possible AC or DC charging possible? Is it possible to charge at 100w for example? More specific: What is the lowest wattage (or amps*voltage) that can be communicated to be available from an EV charger to an EV through existing communication protocols used by type 1/2 or...

I have seen a debate in the industry about what is better - CCS or NACS? While Tesla opening us the NACS for all the EOEMs to opt for, this has been aided by large OEMs like Ford, GM, and many more. I have seen great discussions happening around this forum. Would love to hear views on what is...

V2H is just about getting established in the UK for Chademo. But Chademo appears destined to go the way of Betamax before much longer. V2H is allegedly 'coming' for CCS, but the real availability of V2H compatible CCS cars, or corresponding bidirectional home chargers is still vanishingly small...

Is it me or has anyone else had problems with the new Shell Tritium chargers? Twice now I’ve had the charger happily chat with the car, ask for bank card or RFID card then say charge finished as it doesn’t lock CCS plug into the charger. Don’t have this on any other chargers. Thoughts, suggestions?
  6. Renault ZOE
Can my 2013 zoe us a street charger if the charger features CCS? I note that the CCS socket looks exactly the same as a type 2 cable except for the 2 extra pins at the bottom , so can the supplied zoe street charging cable in the boot fit into the ccs socket on the street charger side or will it...
  7. General Tesla Motors Discussion
Noob question here about my pending Model 3. It has a CCS port, but the top part of the CCS port is the Type 2 / Tesla part. Given that Model S's etc have only this part, does this mean that the Model 3 can use either charge cable at the Tesla Superchargers? And if not, why not? Many thanks

Last night I helped, and witnessed a brand new liveried up demo Kona, being charged from 24% to 70% before I left, On CCS On EH @Lymm services! It was at the full 110amp from the start and I was surprised after all the negative press on here about them on EH I didn't think it was possible below...

I am considering changing my current Leaf 24KW to another make. My current choices are INPO Leak 62Kw - Kona 65Kw - Kai Niro 65Kw. Current the Leaf uses Chadamo and the other 2 CCS. Once I change the car I would like to travel over into Europe. So which charging method would any one...

I changed from a Leaf to an Ioniq BEV last year, and am getting increasingly frustrated by the lack of CCS chargers in the UK, and the high failure rate amongst them (especially Ecotricity). Has anyone seen or thought about making an adaptor from Chademo or Tesla Supercharger to a CCS plug? I...
  13. Tesla Model 3
I was just wondering if we knew what kind of socket the European spec Model 3’s are going to get ? Presumably it’ll have a standard Type 2 socket which will allow 3 phase AC (upto what power? - 32a per phase would be nice) and DC supercharging. But do we know any more than this ? To my...
