2016 e-golf SE with ~40k miles.
After charging at various dc fast chargers, and even after some level 2 use, I get a mechanical clicking noise coming from the charge port. I’ve found a workaround but have concerns.
It clicks a little less than once per second, with dual-action noise like...
Following on from a thread where a member melted their cable due to contact resistance heating. I decided to clean both cable and charge port.
I used contact cleaner with a spray tube to get into the small contacts and some small swabs to clean the charge port pins.
I got a fair bit of gunge off...
I know this has happened to a couple of people. Charge cable plug will not release from charge port.
At the top of the plug is a latch which holds the plug in place
I managed to get the plug to release with a bit of wiggling (the plug not me)
The latch at the top was not operating every time...
