    Electric Vehicle Classifieds

    Electric Vehicle Classifieds
Hi all, I'm part exchanging my Leaf 24kWh Tekna and handlily still had the old Goodyear tyres I took off last December to replace with CrossClimates, so (with the dealers blessing before anyones asks) I've swapped them back on and can offer up my barely used CrossClimates for any Leaf owner (or...
  3. Tyres for BMW 225xe

    General EV Discussion
I was just wondering why my tyres are speed rated W I’ve been told that if I put less than W on, it could invalidate my insurance! Does anyone know why it’s got a W speed rating when the cars top speed is 122mph. W is for cars over 160mph. Is it because it’s all wheel drive?
  4. Goodyear EfficientGrip 91 or 95 (XL)?

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Hi all, I got my lovely 2017 Tekna 3 weeks ago, all good except for a slow puncture on the front left tyre. Took it to a local garage and they said it couldn't be repaired, needs a new tyre. The one that needs replacing is a Goodyear EfficientGrip 215/50 R17 91V and on the other side is a...
  5. Volkswagen Golf GTE locking wheel nut

    General EV Discussion
Hi can someone tell me where to find the locking wheel nut for my Golf GTE please? And if possible send a picture of it. I cannot find it anywhere and fear it's been lost by previous owner. Many thanks
  6. Thinking about tyres?

    First Generation Ampera and Volt
I always like to have the best possible combination of tyres on the road and, having been less than pleased with the choice made by the dealer who sold the car to me, I have been studying alternatives. I have based my research on the tyres listed by a well known German on-line retailer. I have...
  7. leaf 24 tyres

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Hi Are there any tyres particularly required for the leaf? Or is is it just a matter of choosing some in the right size?
  8. leaf 24 2014 new tyres

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Hi does the leaf require any special tyres? Or will any that fit be suitable.
  9. Choice of three tyres, experiences sought please

    Volkswagen Golf GTE
I need to buy four new tyres for my Golf GTE. I have narrowed it down to four based on a low dB rating and as best as possible wet and efficiency ratings. I realise that one of the four listed below is an all weather tyre and so are a little more expensive but I'd be keen to hear from anyone...
  10. Tyre choice and efficiency

    Kia Niro
So the Niro looks like it ships with Michelin Primacy 215/55/17. Looking at the tyre retailer sites, this doesn’t look to have a desperately low rolling resistance. Anyone any idea how much difference this makes in reality to the efficiency of an EV?
  11. Service costs/buying advice

    Renault ZOE
Hello I am buying a Zoe as a second car to get to work (80 miles a week). I've owned a Leaf before which I leased from new so I'm sold on EV's. I'm looking at very cheap Zoe's, 2013 models. I've come across one which needs all 4 tyres which is fine (I'm thinking Michelin Cross Climates) but...

    First Generation Ampera and Volt

  16. Which Tyre? Michelin or Goodyear?

    Volkswagen Golf GTE
My original Bridgestones have done 17k miles and are coming up to the time when I need to change them (all four of them). There are plenty of threads on here as to which tyre people consider to be the best and I have narrowed it down to either the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or the Goodyear Eagle F1...
  17. Please help me with replacement tyre info

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
Morning everyone. I have to replace one of the back tyres on my 30 Tekna. it currently has the original Dunlop enasave tyres. which it seems are not easy to access although I am trying. Having read some threads I am getting conflicting advice. My local nissan garage seem to think I can put...
  18. Replacement Tyres .. nightmare

    Volkswagen Passat GTE
So my lease GTE Advance is close to need new front tyres. I've just passed 20k and expect perhaps another 1k before I hit the tread depth markers. As it's notoriously difficult to get any sensible quality tyres agreed by the lease company, anyone have any luck on getting what they want? I...
  19. New tyres / tracking

    Nissan LEAF24 & LEAF30
I've had two new tyres fitted to the front of my Tekna today. After reading a few threads I've gone for the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 215/50R17 95W. Before this tyre fitting the car drove in a straight line and the steering wheel was dead centre. I had only 2mm tread remaining on the...
  20. Low speed left right wobble issue

    First Generation Ampera and Volt
Ive noticed a definite "shimmy" at low speeds, usually less than about 15mph which goes away at higher speed. Anyone have this issue before and possible solutions? I believe its called tramlining?
