Hi.
Searching for donor to make a custom EV build. Found a Ford Transit without battery cells. Any thoughts on other parts? Is it good donor for EV?
Planning to build an Audi A2, so engine is also front driven and i believe should fit quite nice.
Any thoughts on ECU, other electronics? Possible to integrate to other cars CANbus or will need to swap all electrics from Ford?

i believe those use a siemens motor. I think damien macguire has used one of those in a project and they're pretty decent motors. For DIY though its probably better to use a more well researched and understood controller/inverter. The ford/Azure stuff was never that great in the first place.

The LEAF is a good candidate for this IMO. A LEAF motor/inverter assembly can be bought for a grand and has plenty aftermarket support to get it running outwith the LEAF. You could ofcourse start with an entire car, but they're still a bit pricey and the batteries on the older ones arent the best.

DIY electric car forum is probably your best bet for research.
