While looking at various things, have found a v7 infotainment manual june2014

Looks like the centre screen is very icon driven and you can display photos

Got my ampera in the middle of june and looks like I have the old system

Anyone got the new or compared the two?

Ditto seen it too but I doubt there are any in the UK yet as there seemed to be a lot of unsold stock earlier in the year. Now if the offered it as a software upgrade I might be interested so that I could run Google maps, if it is like the one in the Adam.

I would be interested to see if there is a software CD somewhere for this to be added to older vehicles. Id bet there isn't any changes to the hardware

I would have said faster/newer hardware bit it seems to be fine, maybe just a capacitive screen instead of the press to select one.

so is the screen capacitive? on the 2014

I don't know just hoping although when trying to press the 'traffic holdup' icon I find it easier fortified use my finger nail as it is too close to the bottom of the screen to get my fingertip on.

Capacative is no good if you're wearing gloves though (for those winter hypermilers in their thermals....)

You can get gloves with something woven into the fabric...about £1 off ebay.

Lots of options on that front, I have some warm woolly gloves that are capacitive too, very nice in winter... Not so great for driving though!
