The cost and work involved might be important factors in the process.
I think (might be wrong) it is built in the head unit or as an additional module under the dash somewhere.
I had a thought, how tricky (if at all possible) would it be to implement the parts from new 38 model to the first generation 28 model in case it is a module.
I doubt it's doable when it's built in to head unit.
