Hi,

New to the forum and have got an issue with my 330e which I've had for the last 6 months. In the last week there has been a loud fan noise after running on electric but today I lost all ev power. When I got home and plugged it in to charge the fan kicked in again and sound like they are on full power.

I'm wondering if there is an issue with ev cooling? Causing the batteries to get to too hot. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tim

Hi and welcome. Do you remember what the % charge was when you lost all EV power? Did you get any warning lights or messages in the display?

It is normal for the fan to run when you plug the car in, especially during warmer days or if you've driven the car relatively hard in electric-only mode. The coolant circulates around the battery pack and inverter unit to keep them at a stable temperature.

But the loss of EV power is a problem, that shouldn't happen under any conditions unless the battery gets to less than 5% charge. Time to call the dealer, I think.
