Electric cars don’t need biofuels to run them. So they don’t compete for land with food production and biodiversity. And obviously they are quieter and don’t pump out air pollution into our streets. But are they really low carbon?

Professor Dame Julia King from Aston University provides the answer.

two points

firstly she seems to ignore the high ratio of EV owners how also have home generation, so the carbon arguments are even better in favour of EVs

Secondly the subject of point 3 needs needs a speell check I think :)

Good article and a credible antidote to the ignorant nonsense that petrolheads post on the Daily Mail blogs.

Agree that she overlooked the likelihood of EV owners also having solar PV installed and misses the probability that EV owners buy their electricity from a renewables-only supplier.
