Well, today I've had my Ampera for 6 months.

In that time I've driven 8553 miles with a lifetime MPG of 163.

Since getting a charging point installed at work in July I've done over 5900 miles with an average MPG of 232.

If I hadn't been in Germany this week, that would have been 6000 miles and 235 MPG - the official fuel economy of the car. Not bad for a car that I drive 'enthusiastically' on the motorway twice a day.

Thats excellent, sounds like you have the perfect arrangement for the car, with a commute inside battery range and a charging point at the destination. I wont get anywhere your number as I'll have to use some fuel a few times a month I reckon.. :)

How does that arithmetic work then? 10000.0/41.9=238.7, even 10000.0/41.8 is only 239.2 so it isn't just a simple rounding error.
I suspect there are multiple rounding errors: they probably recorded km & litres internally, calculated l/100km then converted each of those independently to imperial.
