Just watched this video with Thomas Ingenlath talking about sustainability and their recent LCA.


Interesting to see that the Polestar 2 he was in had a 71kWh battery as opposed to the 78kWh.

Early prototype maybe? Special for Chinese market? Cheaper model?

Any ideas?

Thanks Steve.

I wonder why they used the older technology for the Chinese market. Seems like a bit of an odd thing to do.

Particularly as they are made there. I'd have thought having a consistent supply of parts would have made the production line more efficient.

Good news for us I guess.

There are also significant rules in China about using local components. Tesla also use CATL batteries in the Model 3 that's sold in China, for the same reason.
