I would have loved to know what the battery SOH was, just out of view when he flicked the LeafSpy screens across.

Just makes you realise how EV’s have progressed in last 5 years and how the LEAF is no longer fit for purpose in these hot climate countries.

The heat in that battery was really bordering on dangerous levels.

looking forward to the hill climb

I think Bjorn tested a Leaf 40 in Norway when it was cooler and it was still basically useless. I had one and it was nearly in the red from 2 short rapid charges and driving at 70 mph. There was gaps in between so not constant charge and drive too. Never had any EV be so frankly crap at it. Used to charge a much older Kia Soul EV multiple times and it didn't care at all.

Mk 1 Leaf was designed for Japan where the national speed limit is 60mph, I understand.

Yep, 100 kph is 63 MPH. If you go on A Better Route Planner you find that lots of Japanese EVs with small batteries, like the Leaf, Honda e, the Mazda one, they all look a lot better when limited to 100 kph.

Interestingly enough I've just done my longest journey in the leaf, just over 200 miles. On the way away I charged to 100% the night before, and did 2 rapid charges en-route, but on the way home I did 3 rapid charges, one before leaving Glasgow and 2 en-route. I was interested to see the battery temperature didn't go much above mid-way and was well short of the two red lines.

I set the cruise control at 63 and stuck with that except for some bursts to overtake lorries - and I suppose winter in Scotland helped. There are some advantages of a cold climate.....
