Hi,

Over the last 2 weeks we have noticed a hissing from the ventilation and the dealer brushed us off with various reasons, some sounding reasonable some not.

However, today it is hot here, benefits of living in the sun (sorry everyone) and the hissing was like a rather angry snake but worse than that, no cool air coming through.

To me, with a tiny scrap of knowledge, it’s obvious that there has been a fault for a while and the hissing was symptomatic of a cooling problem which obviously didn’t manifest much in winter, but now it’s hot (21, I’m a northerner) the cooling system clearly isn’t working.

Reported to the dealer, no response at this point.

So "next week" was really 3 weeks later... valves in aircon "shot" and the car is in for the valve replacement. 2.1 upgrade has failed and the dealer indicates that the front camera needs to be replaced as part of the upgrade, I've not read that anywhere else so assume a firmware update failed and they are now having to replace it.

They've had the car for nearly 2 weeks now, but provided us a loaner iD3 FOC, so not stressed about it.

Anyone else heard this about camera upgrade things?

There’s another post somewhere about the update requiring a new camera, but other than yours, that’s the only other one I’ve heard of.

I am having the same issue right now! We have that hissing sound, and no cool air is coming. What could be the issue?! What should I do? I have been to the dealer already, they added some freon, but nothing really changed. The air conditioner worked well for a day or two, and after that, it started making that noise again. A couple of days later, no cool air once again. Someone told me the filters might actually be dead or I have to clean them and recommended me to call for some chemical overhaul services. I have already called for the guys from Reliable Aircon Servicing in Chemical Overhaul | Marvellous Aircon Servicing Singapore, as I am using their services for the aircon that I have at home.

Hi there, so it went in again just as summer hit us.

They had it for a couple of days and fixed it, I spoke to an engineer to understand what happened.

So tell them:

1. check the alignment of the tubing, the slightest of misalignment will stop the cooling
2. Tell him to put a camera down the vents, this was the only way the engineer saw the alignment problem

For information, we are in Spain, Barcelona, currently 38 degrees and the car is cool. So don’t accept any brush offs.

IM me if you would like more info, happy to share.

PS, they replaced and realigned the entire tubing unit as well as recharging the aircon.

In order for the ventilation equipment to work as long as possible, it must be cleaned regularly. The air conditioner can be serviced at the service center. The maintenance schedule is drawn up taking into account the recommendations of each manufacturer separately. The increase or decrease in time costs depends on what type of maintenance the customer wants to perform and what air conditioning system is available. I use the services of a team of professionals in the maintenance of aircons and am always satisfied with their work.

I hardly think a car that's a few weeks old requires a service of the air conditioning :)

This was a fault, as indicated above, caused by a couple of things. Has been great since they replaced the misaligned unit.
