Most articles about the iMiev mention its aluminium spaceframe chassis.

Does anyone know if the car actually has any aluminium in its structure please?

I own a petrol 'i' and can't find any aluminium underneath that!

I'm starting to think the original 'i' concept car had the aluminium spaceframe and it's become a myth that the production vehicles also have it...

Hi Paul, I also asked the question on Mitsubishi's Facebook page and they were very prompt in replying:

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK Not sure where you got the information from but our manuals state that the monocoque shell is constructed from various grades of high tensile strength steel panels. Page 8 of the 2011 sales brochure states the i-MiEV has a lightweight steel monocoque body, integrated with the chassis, of course.
