Or can a type 1 (vehicle side) to type 2 (charger side) cable that generally comes/came with EVs that have type 1 charging ports (e.g. previous Leafs or I-Mievs etc.) into the end of a type 2 charging cable?
I ask because we have a home charger with tethered type 2 cable and a Citroen C-Zero is being added to the family fleet.
I may very well be missing something (as well as my marbles) but the home charger has a type 2 “female” connector at the end and the cable that generally comes with such cars is type 2 “male” at the charger end, so that it can plug into untethered chargers at home and at public AC charging points, which are type 2 female.

Got it, I knew about the adapters but could not figure out what was different about them from the normal provided cable other than length, and being miserly by nature I didn’t want to spend out on one unnecessarily.
How safe are the adapters in comparison to a tethered type 1 cable. The C-Zero only draws 3.3kW I think.

I suppose those adapters would also allow a vehicle with no rapid charging capability but type 1 charging only to charge from any AC tethered charger including AC rapids, though only at the vehicle’s standard rate of course.
Not sure I will bother with an adapter as the C-Zero does have DC rapid charging and as it has a granny charger we can use that temporarily until we get dedicated home charger with type 1 tethered, or an untethered charger might be the most flexible option.
