You've probably resolved this by now but here's my input anyway.
I bought a Kia Soul (30Kwh - type 1) and had a 7kw Wallbox with type 2 tethered cable as there was a deal on - then bought the type 2 to type 1 adapter. This way I can cater for either type 1 or 2 from the tethered cable so if I swap cars / get visitors I should be able to cater for them. It's worked fine, no problems (that's torn it!!)
