I've a 2014 Ampera which has now come down with the "buzzsaw" whine that other users have reported. Just happened the other day idential to the whining on the

The mileage is under 100,000 ; it's been fully serviced within the time periods and as far as I can see the Powertrain Warranty is still valid.

No problem says I, I'll take it into the local Vauxhall Dealership (Arnold Clark) after checking they do Electric Vehicles. One diagnosis later and they tell me it's
"noise seems to be coming from the gearbox area". They then recommend the gearbox is removed for inspection and referred to a transmission specialist.
Oh and it's not covered by warranty as the 8 year/100,000 mile warranty doesn't cover the gearbox.

I'd be grateful for any assistance here and confirmation that it is covered by the warranty. As far as I am aware the "powertrain" is covered from other posts including the gearbox/transmission.

I'd also be grateful for any thoughts as to how to get this resolved.
So far I have contacted Vauxhall direct and am awaiting them getting back to me but anything to assist me with Vauxhall / the dealer would be appreciated, as the dealer seems to be simply washing his hands of it and I ideally don't want to have to flatbed it to a specialist elsewhere (I'm in Scotland).

Thanks
AV

bunch of wallies, there is no gearbox to remove as in an ICE car, This is repaired by replacing the bearing. the transmission is covered by the Voltec warranty.

This is in the wrong forum I'll report to the MODS to get it shifted to the ampera forum

This was actually sorted under warranty - for anyone else if you look up my other thread it gives the code for the part to show it is warranty.
