Well it sure looks the business and will increase the street credibility of the Ampera but I am not too sure of the practicality as an electric patrol vehicle. I presume the average mileage per shift is greater than the battery capacity and as policing is round the clock they will need at least two vehicles to ensure 24 hr cover whilst one on charge. Could certainly sneak up on unsuspecting crooks in stealth mode though.
LOL! I agree. I think it is a technology demonstrator rather than a live police car but I loved how it looked and I love the idea of electric police cars too.
However, remember, it isn't just electric. The Ampera is an ER-EV and has a petrol tank and can perform just as well on petrol as on electricity so it wouldn't be much different from existing patrol cars in that respect except the first 40 miles could be on electric.
