I think I saw a picture of someone who had Android Auto activated. It was still at 2/3 of the screen but the right 1/3 was occupied by one of the Kia widgets. When I activate Android Auto the right part is occupied by the useless Android Auto logo and I cannot put anything else there.

Is that a feature of the new firmware or am I just mistaken?

Latest software (Type 2) enables split screen in AA

Is this on the UK model E-Niro? Some are saying UK E-niro even with the latest software does not allow split screen AA? Don't have my E-Niro yet, hopefully getting it very soon.
I still have 2019 software on mine so don't know for sure. I've seen a post with the split screen but it may have been from an US based contributor - Greg?

If your home screen looks like this, it should have the AA split..

The right third is live map tracking, and it fades into the left 2/3... tapping the screen takes you to "normal" screens...

The update seems punctuated with this purple color....

No way Jose, I still have the 3-widget layout. And although my favourite band of all time is Deep Purple, I don't really like the purple hue on the screen :)

That screen just looks like it’s gone faulty to me, what a dreadful design.
(IMHO of course)

Todor:
Sorry, "normal" meaning not this screen that is a fuzz composite of 2 screens...
the screens you are used to.... this opening screen is new... before the car came back to whatever was there when you turned the car off...

Peter: (thanks for using your name)
yeah, way too "artsy-fartsy" for me and kind of useless, but in line with the rest of the programming of the Kia, lots of widgets and lack of remembering settings..... but tap it once and it returns to the screen it was at when you shut the car off.

Not in the UK. I have this purple version, and on the AA screen, there is no evidence of any ability to activate the split screen to show Kia widgets on the right hand side. It only shows the AA logo. Unless I am missing a setting. But I have seen no evidence from anyone UK based that the split screen is there.

So just to be clear, you have a startup screen like post #8, but the right hand third of the AA screen is blank, or what?

2 questions...

Greg
1. Yes, my start up screen is the same purple screen as in post #8.

2. AA screen right hand side is a big ugly AA logo on a black background which you can't hide by switching on split screen anywhere. Unless you can tell me how.

If I recall correctly, my software version is 200923

Seems crazy that there are 2 versions of display!
AA being 2/3 of the screen only makes sense if the remaining 1/3 is used for another function.

Honestly Greg, you think I haven't tried? The facility is not there.

To be honest though, even if it was there, having the split screen to hide the ugly logo with something vaguely useful is only hiding the real issue. The real issue is that Kia need to sort their shit out and fix the head unit so it shows AA full screen. I used to prefer using Waze over my previous cars in built Nav but I get no pleasure from using AA maps on the tiny window AA is allowed to use, the area covered is smaller than my last car which had an 8in screen. It's not much bigger than if I mounted my phone and just displayed it on that. Until it is sorted, if ever, I guess that I will be using the native nav and only using AA in the background streaming music.

Unfortunately Kia are too lazy to implement this wide screen update. It's not like they can't. Android support it. They do not have it on their priority list. We also own an Audi which has wide screen Android auto on a 10 inch screen as it's amazing.
We need to make more noise to Kia to support it.
I have a 4 with 3 split screen. It's amazing as I can have navigation, radio and the ability to swap stations and weather forecast on one screen. I can make any full wide screen if I want. I'm not looking forward to losing this functionality
