So I am slowly looking around at getting my GTE serviced. It doesn't have any service packages left so I'm left to myself basically to service it. It will be it's 5yr service.

Could someone tell me what oil is used for the engine (brand, viscosity etc and is it available to buy outside VW)? Is timing belt the same as a regular TSI and does it need to be replaced along with the electric water pump? Are spark plugs some special spark plugs? What oil does the DSG take?

You might like to look at this forum thread concerning engine oil albeit referring to Passat:

With regard to timing belt see this thread:
Volkswagen's official service intervals for the...
The Engine oil thread has cleared things up! Thanks. With regards to the timing belt; I've seen that thread before and even through VW does not have a set interval for belt change I think I will definitely look around for replacement. Same for electric water pump. Although I find it extremely hard to believe that you'd never have to replace the water pump.

With regards to the DSG oil, any idea what it should be?
