Hi all,

I was looking into deliveroo and ubereats driving jobs and looked into which insurance companies provide the hire and reward insurance. I've only been able find an insurance company called Zego, Zego pay-as-you-go and 30 day car insurance | Courier work | Fast food delivery however they do not insure a "fully electric car" according to their criteria.

Does anyone here have the hire and reward insurance or can recommend one?

Thanks

I Don't know of companies like that, but if you are looking for delivery work check out Amazon Flex? They provide free insurance while delivering for them, and as an added bonus your car won't stink of the junk food you're carrying around all the time.

You can deliver regular Amazon parcels, Prime Now orders, or Morrisons grocery deliveries depending on what's in your area. Pay is usually somewhere around £15 per hour.

Have you actually talked to anyone at Zego?
They'll happily insure electric bikes and cargo-bikes AFAIK, They are probably the best to go for as they are happy to insure over short-term periods rather than locking yourself into annual insurance.

I use Park Insurance | Personal, Specialist Insurance Services for my cargobike courier business, they do a lot of niche insurance. Give them a bell. If they can't help I bet they can recommend someone who can far better than anyone on here.

Yeah I spoke to 2 customer service chaps who just said "no" sorry we don't insure electric cars, I asked is there a specific reason, they said "no" sorry we just don't. They couldn't recommend and I gave up. It would have been good for them to give a reason as to why they can't insurance electric vehicles
