I applied for a job with Tesla. Got first interview but I was not successful.

I would now be reluctant to work for them given their corporate response to Kevin Sharpe's battery issues!

Regarding the degree... I would expect that appropriate experience would be acceptable. I don't have a degree but they said that would not matter for the right people.

I did work part time for them over last winter in London and I don't have anywhere near a degree... I think if you are a true enthusiast then they would consider you as well.

Was that for a sales role or something else? How did they come across in your discussions with them?

It was for In-store Product Specialist, London.

They were fine and professional. Was more interested in my customer service experience and totally not interested in my EV experience... that surprised me a little.

Had I got the job I would have moved to near London so it was a massive deal for me and I was very disappointed not getting it at the time. I now feel I dodged a bullet!

Dear Tesla, I can compose a voicemail greeting and set out-of-office, and I can adjust my phone handset so it looks OK but is really off the hook. At my last employer I demonstrated great agility and adaptability by managing to avoid most customer interaction across all channels of communication. If anything else is required, I am a quick learner.
