I also went for source east for the dual roaming. Have tried a couple of source London chargers, all worked ok.I was speaking to the Source London help desk today, and was told that the latest news is that the cards have been extended to the end of the year - 31/12/14, rather than end of June.
Sounds like the takeover is still on, but delayed. Meantime things carry on as they are at the moment.
While I have a Source London card, which gives roaming for Source East, Source East itself looks the better deal, as for £10 a year it gives roaming to both Source London, and PIM. And they haven't announced any forthcoming changes AFAIK.
That's why I went with Source London as I heard Source East cards were taking a while to arrive. My London card arrived in less than 48 hours (it might even have been the next day) and as I thought I might use it at Gatwick it seemed the better choice until I saw the expiry date...Thanks for that update guys, still waiting for my Source East card after ten days but pleased to hear it will work in London.........
Just rang source east - no record of my application despite taking my £10 on the 10th May but they promised to send today. Like you I am hoping to use at Gatwick on Monday - anyone tried them there yet ?That's why I went with Source London as I heard Source East cards were taking a while to arrive. I didn't actually use them (I rapid charged at Pease Pottage instead) but the last I looked, the Source London site showed both North and South Terminals as offline. Would be interest to know if they are actually working as I'm back there in a week or so...Just rang source east - no record of my application despite taking my £10 on the 10th May but they promised to send today. Bear in mind Clackett Lane AC is offline both sides at the moment.Well Gatwick is 62 motorway miles from my house and son has to catch flight on Monday. I will be risking wrath if missus if Zoe doesn't make it there - but will give it a go and head on to pease pottage or clacket lane services if no joy at Gatwick.
I wouldn't. The chargers are in the North and South SHORT STAY car parks, and give you free parking for four hours.I haven't tried the gatwick ones, but will be going there in October, so it's on my list to try. Wonder if I can leave it on charge for 5 days whilst on holiday![]()
Ecotricity site and zap map show clacket lane as working. Do you have other information #flipper ?Bear in mind Clackett Lane AC is offline both sides at the moment.
You mean other than being there on Saturday and anti-clockwise showing AC offline *and* Ecotricity tweeting the same yesterday?Ecotricity site and zap map show clacket lane as working. Do you have other information #flipper ?
We flew from Gatwick recently, and the charging thing annoyed me. The facility is there, but it's not a huge amount of use - apart from those collecting people.I wouldn't. The chargers are in the North and South SHORT STAY car parks, and give you free parking for four hours.
What would the charge be for 5 days in short stay (less the first 4 hours).
There also may be the ethical issue of tying up a single charge point for 5 days!
