Anybody else noticed the graphics change on the app for the air conditioning screen? Use to show a picture of the car interior, now more basic. Got excited thought it might work without car plugged in but no!

Mine worked ok without the car plugged in on latest app (IOS). Happily warmed the car to 18 for 5 minutes before I got in it last night

Mine worked for the first time this morning. The app still gave me the error saying it had failed but when I got in the car was toasty warm and fully defrosted. First time its ever worked for me. Also having it preheated whilst plugged in bumped my efficiency up to 3.5miles/kwh on my 25mile A road/ motorway commute this morning! Ive not been able to get it above 2.7 previously

I was hoping it might mean it would work without car plugged in, but no.
That's what I meant, Steve - mine works without it being plugged in. Twice now. With the simple view on home page, and on the more "picture/plan" view which you get by selecting "Air Conditioning" on the vehicle tab.

That's on a Family, updated to 0783.

I'll keep trying, but tried it twice with no joy.

It's not worked the 3 times I have given it a go either, the car is in for a software update at the mo so I'm hopeful it will work after that. From other posts it seems that updating the car can add functions to the app also.

I'm on 0783 2.0 but still no joy. Could do with it in this weather.
Sorry to hear that gents (assuming that to be the case :)), wish there was more advice I could offer....

So quick update, we are now updated to 2.0 and some early results are in
Before update
tried 3 time | App said failed 3 times | actually failed 3 times
after update
tried twice | App said failed twice | actually failed 0 times - toasty both times
So in conclusion - mine now works but the App claims it doesn't or could not communicate with the car.

Also of interest is that my driveway (and house) has very poor mobile reception but since the update the car is now connected to my home Wifi while on the driveway. I don't know if that helps the car to get the message to start the heater or not.

Until recently, I used to say that initiating a charge or starting the heating through the app worked about 50% of the time. Now it’s failing 100% of the time, which seems to coincide with the last app update.

Any tips?

The only time mine failed is when I actually switched the heating/AC off in the car itself, before leaving it ( can’t remember why!). Every other time I’ve used the app, it’s worked.
Should have said; that’s on IOS and ME2.0.

Mine has worked at least as well as any car app I have used, probably a little better but I've only had Nissan and VW apps so the bar isn't set too high
I had a new Volvo before this and the app on that was great. It worked 100% of the time, kept a trip log of mileage and fuel used (great for business use). Remote start and climate were spot on, perfectly reliable and the ability to see where the car was on a map was useful and my insurance company treated that as a tracker so reduced my premium. I could also see if a tyre had gone flat overnight, if the screenwash was low, what the temperature was at the car and if a service was due and if it was, book it directly from the app.

I'm not hating on the ID3, I love mine even with the 0564 software, but the app is crap and unreliable and there is a way to go yet. What I do know is that it's a new product so will give it time and when it comes to change the car in 3 or 4 years, I will see if progress has been made or not and that will influence my next purchase.
