Hyundai confirm they are in talks with Apple.

“Apple and Hyundai are in discussions, but as it is at an early stage, nothing has been decided,” South Korea’s Hyundai said in a statement to the Financial Times on Friday. "

Mind you, makes absolute sense for Apple as they will be much quicker to market with Hyundai and I think I am right in saying they hardly make anything they sell anyway.

Yes most of the phones and iPads are manufactued under contract.

Apple is mostly a software and design company. They do have manufacturing plants including one in Ireland that built most of the Apple products use.

They also own some of their component suppliers.
