They are around £100 i believe? Cant remember if that was before or after VAT, and think thats without the Conducrete.

They're best used if you are digging a trench already (pedestal units). Especially if you have a few units to install. We had one condudisc for 3 points (new dedicated DB).

Thanks, so that's roughly double the cost of an earth rod, pit etc. Bit on the high side, perhaps, and questionable as to whether it's more cost effective than either a small earth mat or a horizontal copper strip in a trench. A small earth mat's only around £70, and probably as good, or better, in terms of performance. Not sure how good a horizontally buried strap is, never done a comparative test, but I have a couple of metres of 1" x 1/8" copper strap somewhere, I might try digging a narrow trench, dropping it in and seeing how it compares to a rod. My guess is that it will be a bit better, and not a lot different in terms of price, either.
