Interested in hearing about the electric parking brake. According to the manual and the dealer, the parking brake is supposed to be applied when you go into “Park” or power the car off. Mine doesn’t and I have to apply it manually. Is that the same for everyone else?
When I go into Park, the brake applies automatically 90% of the time. The other occasions the brake isn't applied automatically and I'm trying to work out if that is something that I am doing.

After bringing the car to a halt, you have to continue to hold the brake pedal down for more than a second for the auto hold to engage. I wonder if this, or another, time delay plays a part in auto parking brake. I am trying to be more attentive whenever I put the car into park but in the last 4 trips, it has worked automatically every time.

I never ever release the brake manually but, despite that, the car randomly chooses not to put the brake on when I park. 6 starts today but only 5 applications of the brake at park. After careful observation, I have decided it isn't me but it is the car at fault.

Mine works on flat ground.
And fails on my driveway's incline
I traded in a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid Limited for this thing.. And, I starting to regret my purchase. Never had an auto P-Brake issue with the Rav4 Uphill or Down.. it just worked Everytime.
Make sure that you hold the footbrake on for a couple of seconds before checking that the parking brake has come on. It seems to want a little more time than the Auto-hold when you are on an incline.

Thanks.. but, that does not matter. There is no method that consistently works.
This should have a simple On/Off switch.. and when in the "On" position.. it should automatically work. Like my 2021 Rav4 did.. The more I look the more this vehicle SUCKS.
I was just cleaning it and just Fully Charged it.. It immediately started charging the 12v Battery again.. I decided to put a meter on the battery.. 12.2v.. checked it an hour later 11.8!!!
Fired it up 14.4v so the DC to DC Converter is working.. but why is the battery loosing voltage at rest!!! Urghhh!!!!
I think you have a problem in your own mind. Think of the average Joe who doesn't even know there is a 12 volt battery in the car. He just gets in and drives it! A real issue is when it won't "start".
