The annoying message when you start your car is a common thing - I had that on my previous car a 2018 ICE Honda Civic. Drove me nuts.

I too have now had the remote climate/alarm issue. I set my car to warm up on a schedule yesterday morning and while I was inside getting ready I could hear a car alarm. Looked out the window to see it was my Ariya.

Once was enough. I won’t be using that again until Nissan issue a fix.

I’m sad to hear about the ACC. When I test drove an ID.4 I loved how it slowed down by itself before junctions and roundabouts and can’t believe the Ariya won’t do the same without having to initiate the entire ACC system. I haven’t had time to investigate how this all works since getting the car and by the sounds of it I’ll need a stiff drink when I eventually sit down with the “manual” to try to decipher it all!

Loving driving the car though. Completely agree with that! 😊

This may be a stupid question…

Like many on here, I’ve experienced the alarm going off when attempting to pre-heat the car. I’d like to report it as a fault - my thinking being that the more people who report it, the more likely Nissan will issue a software update to sort it out.

When I collected my car, the sales rep said that their service department would phone me to introduce themselves - something that never happened, despite a further prompt to sales this week. So do I report it to the yet-to-be-bothered-to-phone-me service dept at the dealership, or is there some way of reporting this directly to Nissan?

I've just received an email from Nissan support telling me that app version 2.3.3 that fixed a bug I'd reported where it wasn't saving a favourite home or work address also fixes the climate alarm issue we've all been having.

I was convinced this would require a firmware update to the car, but perhaps the app now turns off the internal sensors when you remotely activate climate?

They've asked me to double-check it's fixed. It's not all that cold today, but I will give it a go later. If you want to see how you get on, make sure you've got the app update installed and let it rip! 😁

Can i ask a dumba$$ question? Whats the app called?
We're waiting for our Ariya to arrive and itd be good to have a look at the app beforehand 😁.

PS Did the update work?
The app is Nissan Connect.

I need to go out shortly, so I put the remote climate on as a test and after a few minutes the alarm hadn't gone off which is a good sign. However, I've just checked again and in the app climate is now not running despite me not turning it off. The temperature of the cabin is still showing as "Cold". The log tab in the app didn't note when I'd turned climate on despite it doing that prior to this latest update, so that wasn't much help. I can't remember exactly what time I turned it on, but it must've run for at least 10 minutes before it stopped itself, probably longer.

Perhaps Nissan's fix is to randomly turn the feature off altogether. That would work, however it's not the fix we're ideally looking for. 😁

I've just turned climate back on again via the app and noted the time I did it. I'm going out shortly so will see if it's still running when I put my shoes on.

My app updated to 2.3.3 on the 26th, my alarm went off twice while climate control was on this morning 😢
That's disappointing. My experience was slightly different to yours. The alarm didn't go off, but the app continued to randomly switch off climate control without me asking it to. It's also not putting it in the notification log.

So by the sounds of it, it's not fixed. I'm going to feedback to Nissan as they asked me to and I'm going to mention that although the alarm didn't go off for me, I'm aware of at least one other person with this version of the app who still has this issue. I'll send a link to this thread.

I'm probably tempting fate by saying it, but I've had very few issues so far. The only 2 were the remote climate alarm thing (now fixed) and the parking brake not always activating (seems to happen most often when I reverse my car behind the gates on my driveway, other than that it rarely happens).

Am I going to regret posting this? Only time will tell...! 😬

Reading these issues cropping up for many new Ariya drivers certainly dents the experience even before weve got ours. Im not sharing these with the wife who's faultless 8yr old Volvo its replacing for fear of death! Afterall it was me who convinced her the Ariya was the one. :-/
Your feelings are understandable. Not everyone will be having serious issues (I'm not) but people don't tend to report when everything's OK so that can make things look worse than they really are. I'm not saying that you won't experience issues, but it's not inevitable!

Well, yes, forums are the place to share these things i guess so more often than not the overall picture gets a bit skewed. Im glad to hear youve had a good experience thus far. That alone gives me some hope. :D
I've done over 1000 miles so far and the only issue I've got is the parking brake not always engaging automatically (perhaps 1 time out of every 10). As someone else commented earlier in this thread, it's not a bad habit to check it's on and no great hassle to engage it manually if I need to. I'm sure that'll get fixed in a future OTA update, but if it doesn't I won't be losing any sleep over it. Absolutely love the car!

I'm with you @RamblyRunner - we're almost (wrongly) programmed to report bad news. I enjoy the car too - the only issue that affects actual driving is the jerky cruise control - the other issues are annoying but I hope they're fixed with software updates. We have to accept that we're driving computers with wheels these days, and as the drivers, there's little we can do ourselves.
You raise a fair point about the cruise control. It's a bit aggressive for my liking. I thought the version in the VW ID4 I test drove was much better, but VW had had plenty of time to iron out the faults - and they're a good example as their initial software releases were less than perfect but they've made great strides in improving things since. Your spot on with the "computer on wheels" analogy. I'm sure Nissan will improve on things and I look forward to OTA updates doing just that. However, I have no qualms with my purchase and have a stupid grin on my face every time I drive the car.

I have a 63kWh battery in my Ariya Advance. I currently have 26% battery remaining with an estimated range of 64 miles. Doing the maths that works out as a potential range of 246 miles.

I doubt it would be anything close to that however I’ve been very pleased with the range I’m getting from the vehicle. It’s likely the type of journeys I do that are mainly round town with the very occasional (and brief) period on a faster duel carriageway.

My wife managed 5.3 miles per kWh recently. I often get over 4 miles but it’s more usually around 3.5. (Winter driving UK.)

For transparency I’m using ePedal when I drive. My wife doesn’t use ePedal. We both drive the car in ‘D’ mode. Neither of us drive any differently to how we did when we had an ICE car.

I might just be lucky - I also haven’t had many of the issues other people have reported on here. Or perhaps that’s tempting fate…! 😁
