Nissan service message - you have to OK it every time. Same as the Leaf, complained about by many, but that’s the way it is, not faulty!
You don’t have to OK it on the Leaf. The menu/audio/nav etc. buttons all work fine whether or not you press OK.

Obviously if all the “buttons” are touch screen then you can’t touch them until you can see them so might be different on the Ariya.

Leaf has physical buttons for Menu, Map and Audio so you can go straight to those functions without pressing OK. The only thing you need to use OK for is to get to CarPlay.

Different if all the controls are on the screen, then there’s no choice but to clear the warning.

Interested in hearing about the electric parking brake. According to the manual and the dealer, the parking brake is supposed to be applied when you go into “Park” or power the car off. Mine doesn’t and I have to apply it manually. Is that the same for everyone else?

Update on the parking brake.

I discussed this with the dealer this morning and he said that the parking brake is completely automatic unless you intervene. So if you drive off and allow the car to take the brake off, it will reapply it when you go into Park or turn the car off. If you take it off yourself using the button, it will stay off until you apply it yourself.

I haven’t tested this but when I think back to the times it has/hasn’t worked automatically, it seems credible.

I have the parking brake issue. At first I think it was user error but it still happens occasionally. I’m now in the habit of checking the light before I get out, which is probably good practice anyway.

From the Infotainment Manual

This adjusts the screen buttons to beep when touched.

Looks like a good feature but turns out to be useless. I switched it on and tried about 6 button presses. All of them gave the click sound but only four actually did anything so whatever the sound does, you still need to check if the button has done anything.
