I did wonder that with the car being made in Japan, it may delay repairs and spares, unlike the Sunderland based Qashqai.
I did wonder that with the car being made in Japan, it may delay repairs and spares, unlike the Sunderland based Qashqai.I took the car to the dealers today so they could investigate the lane assist system fault I was experiencing.
As it happens, they received a bulletin yesterday from Nissan confirming the fault is steering wheel related and that it needs to be replaced. They have now ordered the replacement but it sounds like it will be awhile before it arrives.
I, of course, completely forgot to mention the alarm![]()
I think that is probably accurate, there was a definite ‘this won’t be quick‘ vibeI did wonder that with the car being made in Japan, it may delay repairs and spares, unlike the Sunderland based Qashqai.
Had the issue last month only took 2 weeks to get replacement wheel so fingers crossed you don’t wait to long!I did wonder that with the car being made in Japan, it may delay repairs and spares, unlike the Sunderland based Qashqai.
Mine works on flat ground.Interested in hearing about the electric parking brake. According to the manual and the dealer, the parking brake is supposed to be applied when you go into “Park” or power the car off. Mine doesn’t and I have to apply it manually. Is that the same for everyone else?
Make sure that you hold the footbrake on for a couple of seconds before checking that the parking brake has come on. It seems to want a little more time than the Auto-hold when you are on an incline.Mine works on flat ground.
And fails on my driveway's incline
I traded in a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid Limited for this thing.. And, I starting to regret my purchase. Never had an auto P-Brake issue with the Rav4 Uphill or Down.. it just worked Everytime.![]()
Thanks.. but, that does not matter. There is no method that consistently works.Make sure that you hold the footbrake on for a couple of seconds before checking that the parking brake has come on. It seems to want a little more time than the Auto-hold when you are on an incline.
I think you have a problem in your own mind. Think of the average Joe who doesn't even know there is a 12 volt battery in the car. He just gets in and drives it! A real issue is when it won't "start".Thanks.. but, that does not matter. There is no method that consistently works.
This should have a simple On/Off switch.. and when in the "On" position.. it should automatically work. Like my 2021 Rav4 did.. The more I look the more this vehicle SUCKS.
I was just cleaning it and just Fully Charged it.. It immediately started charging the 12v Battery again.. I decided to put a meter on the battery.. 12.2v.. checked it an hour later 11.8!!!
Fired it up 14.4v so the DC to DC Converter is working.. but why is the battery loosing voltage at rest!!! Urghhh!!!!![]()
Sounds similar to issue we've had. Cars booked in for a check next week. The driver door also now won't open from the inside. Hope this doesn't turn into a lemon.I had to call out the RAC yesterday morning. Headlight malfunction then system malfunction displayed on the dash and car turned itself off. Could not select drive or reverse. I tried 5-6 times with no luck. The RAC attended a few hours later and of course, everything was fine.
I'm going to book the car in for the above and also:
Alarm triggered by climate control.
Parking brake does not always come on when pressing P.
Lumbar support pumps itself up - noticed when getting back into the car after it's been turned off.
Lane assist/steering wheel control malfunction warning.
Icons on the top left of the screen (mobile details ie signal strength, battery level, settings icon) don't always appear.
Cruise control is very jerky (bordering on dangerous).
Reading these issues cropping up for many new Ariya drivers certainly dents the experience even before weve got ours. Im not sharing these with the wife who's faultless 8yr old Volvo its replacing for fear of death! Afterall it was me who convinced her the Ariya was the one. :-/Sounds similar to issue we've had. Your feelings are understandable. Not everyone will be having serious issues (I'm not) but people don't tend to report when everything's OK so that can make things look worse than they really are. I'm not saying that you won't experience issues, but it's not inevitable!Reading these issues cropping up for many new Ariya drivers certainly dents the experience even before weve got ours. Well, yes, forums are the place to share these things i guess so more often than not the overall picture gets a bit skewed. Im glad to hear youve had a good experience thus far. That alone gives me some hope.Your feelings are understandable. I've done over 1000 miles so far and the only issue I've got is the parking brake not always engaging automatically (perhaps 1 time out of every 10). As someone else commented earlier in this thread, it's not a bad habit to check it's on and no great hassle to engage it manually if I need to. I'm sure that'll get fixed in a future OTA update, but if it doesn't I won't be losing any sleep over it. Absolutely love the car!Well, yes, forums are the place to share these things i guess so more often than not the overall picture gets a bit skewed.
