Ariya early reliability issues

Discussed on the ariyaforums .com site, I can confirm another two cases of the remote climate control/alarm issue - both mine and a colleague. Other things I've noticed are the auto parking brake not always coming on when selecting park. With regard to the display, the sat nav in my car took an age to start the other day (rest of the display was fine) but it did eventually start. Another fairly regular issue I see is the mobile phone status icons (battery level and signal strength) not showing despite the screen working OK.

Has anyone seen such and any other gremlins?

I'm with you @RamblyRunner - we're almost (wrongly) programmed to report bad news. I enjoy the car too - the only issue that affects actual driving is the jerky cruise control - the other issues are annoying but I hope they're fixed with software updates. We have to accept that we're driving computers with wheels these days, and as the drivers, there's little we can do ourselves.
You raise a fair point about the cruise control. It's a bit aggressive for my liking. I thought the version in the VW ID4 I test drove was much better, but VW had had plenty of time to iron out the faults - and they're a good example as their initial software releases were less than perfect but they've made great strides in improving things since. Your spot on with the "computer on wheels" analogy. I'm sure Nissan will improve on things and I look forward to OTA updates doing just that. However, I have no qualms with my purchase and have a stupid grin on my face every time I drive the car.

My previous car was a 20 plate e-Golf and the adaptive cruise control was faultless. With the Nissan, it's either software, the sensor(s) or a calibration issue - having the brakes applied sharply when you're in the outside lane on the motorway just isn't safe. I prefer the Ariya overall and look forward to the issues being resolved.
Only the pre heat (periodically) an issue on mine, will be fixed in due course. Otherwise is perfect. Every journey is awesome - 1,3,5,10, 50 or 120 kms. A joy to drive 👍

I think you have a problem in your own mind.
NO..
I HAVE A PROBLEM BECAUSE I LEFT TOYOTA FOR NISSAN..
LET'S RECTIFY THAT ASAP..
Another (v minor) glitch in our car.
The wife put the driver’s seat cooling on yesterday morning. Tried to switch it off yesterday evening when it was v cold here and the seat controls on the display just stopped responding to any input. Unable to do anything with either seat even though all the other climate controls were working.
It sorted itself out when we switched the car off at our destination but she was not impressed.

Still waiting for a new steering wheel and hoping I don’t get the EV system error that others have had.

On a positive note, I remain in love with the rear view mirror camera - it is amazing at night.

Did you try the on/off button continuous press reset ? I have had the navigation screen competing with the aircon screen recently, a reset corrected it. Mentioning it to my dealer later this week. And I agree, reverse camera excellent night (or day)..

Tried it switching it off/on quite a few times.
I have noticed the touch controls getting a bit more unresponsive in general. Switching to CarPlay is very much hit and miss but I‘m not sure if it’s the car or my dry winter hands.

Sensitivity of the touch controls can be changed: within 15 seconds after vehicle start press and hold the Auto button for 10 seconds, buttons will blink.

Adjust with driver temperature buttons:
4 buttons - high sensitivity
1 button - low sensitivity

Sensitivity of the touch controls can be changed:
Isn’t that for the haptic buttons rather than the touch screen controls for things like the seats?
I changed mine a few days ago so I could tell I'd touched them properly. Don't know about the haptic controls, will look into that as I'm not a fan of those, be better if you can change their sensitivity.

could you show a video of this ?
From the Infotainment Manual

This adjusts the screen buttons to beep when touched.

Perfect thanks
Sounds similar to issue we've had. Cars booked in for a check next week. The driver door also now won't open from the inside. Hope this doesn't turn into a lemon.
Got her back today, was at the dealers for a week. A couple of software upgrades and a replacement steering wheel on order (6 weeks apparently). Going on a trip next weekend so will see how she goes.
Tell us more. What were the software upgrades?
Tell us more. What were the software upgrades?
One to the entertainment system and one for the headlight error. The system malfunction error is linked to the steering wheel fault and will be addressed once the replacement arrives.
Hmm. No climate control alarm error fix then?

Don't know, never had that error myself.
