Yup, that's right. Last year they drove a Chinese electric supermini called the Roewe E50 (see review here: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/first-drives/roewe-e50-first-drive-review) and they really rather seemed to like it.

With this car coming from MG's parent company, Autocar surmised it would only be a matter of time before an MG variant arrived. It seems to me that a key lesson from Tesla is being ignored by EV manufacturers : if it costs a premium, the car has to look and feel premium unless you can count on eye watering incentives packages like in Norway. This might be good and I don't know what incentives chinese gvt have planned but it'd better be good because it doesn't look premium.
