My 'charge' battery blue light stays on and switching charge on and off doesn't alter light. A revert to fuel message appears as well. Charge not dropping when driving.

Electrical mechanic says battery is 'gone' and needs replacement.

How much will this set me back in UK (main dealer?)

what are my options

help

First thing: could it be more than three months since you last filled up with petrol? If so, you may simply need to refuel (min 15 litres).

What does the 'revert to fuel' message actually say? If it says 'engine started to maintain fuel system' or something along those lines, chances are that's your problem. It'll cost you about £15 to fix and you can buy me a drink with the money I've saved you ;-)

That's the error message

if refuels solves the problem it will be a drink and a big hug ;)

quite stressed at mo.

Although one main deal said they haven't ever seen or heard of a need of a battery replacement.

Mines a 2015 model and not sure if battery is still warranty? some say 8 years!

I'll try the refuel issue first (after work). Fingers crossed.
