Hi all

Thinking of selling our Leaf 24, as working from home and not likely to need this going forward.

What have people found is the best way to do so please?

Options would be to try and sell it back to Nissan, we buy any car it, or maybe call a few EV specialist sellers like eco cars to see if they would take it.

Would include selling on here and autotrader, but with social distancing I don’t want to be offering test drives and sitting next to other people in the car, so these options would be out.

thanks for any advice.

I'm not saying this is the best way, but I sold my LEAF 24 to Drive-Green.co.uk (in October 2018), I sent them an email, load of photos etc, they made an offer, I haggled, we came to an agreement, they sent a deposit. They then arranged collection a few days later with a simultaneous bank transfer so I had cleared funds in my bank account before the car drove away. It was a refreshingly painless transaction. It's worth noting that I emailed several 'EV' specialists but Drive Green made the best offer by far and came very close to the private sale value. My LEAF was battery owned, I think this made the car simpler to trade. Good luck (y)

I sold my Honda CRZ hybrid by putting a classified on the forum and mentioning this on a separate post.
I see there is someone with a post in the classified forum looking for an cheap leaf as I write. (cheaper than yours though)

I listed my dads Leaf 24 on here for him a few years ago and it sold through this forum, but with covid just exploring more contactless options. A buyer on here will (quite rightly) want a test drive and so on, which I don’t want to do for the foreseeable future. Maybe a contactless dealer sale will get us a bit less money unfortunately though.

I've bought cars remotely with no viewing or test drive, but I must admit that I'd not buy a 6year old EV without driving it.
Yes, WBAC will undoubtedly find an excuse to reduce their offer on the day, as they've done to me. They really expect owners to turn up with immaculate vehicles and to have fixed curbed rims etc.

If you can afford to hang onto it you might wait until after lockdown ends and demand for transport picks up again. Assuming that the recession isn't as deep as some are predicting.

Around that £5K mark is quite an affordable way in to EV’s, but at the same time the Leaf 24 will only work for certain people. Probably a second car for errands. At £5k the battery must be worth about that, shame there are no ways to turn it into a home battery system! It’s just sat there most of the time, it might as well be running the house!

I'm in a similiar predicmant so would be very interested to hear how you get on.
As an update, we sold the Leaf to Cleevely EV for 5K. WBAC adjusted their price to under 4K when we listed a couple of very minor scratches. We also tried Motorway.co.uk, but they were not interested and were suggesting around 4K too. Nissan main dealer would not take it as they said it was too old to sell with a warranty. Bit rubbish when Kia’s would still be under the original warranty at 6 years old! The car is now for sale with Cleevely for £6,450. Maybe we could have got 5.5K as a private sale but didn’t want to be giving test drives in a pandemic.
