BMW only want £600 inc vat for tailgate, why so expensive (first post quoted £3000) fitted, eventually autoglass will catch on and start doing replacements, they are available in USA
Autoglass replaced the windscreen in my wife’s i3S about 6 weeks ago. Just a windscreen. Kind of thing they do every day.

The car’s currently in Sytner BMW in Leicester fixing the £2,600 worth of damage they caused. They’re paying for it and the replacement car.

Common occurrence with Autoglass apparently. Don’t use them for anything.

I am not sure whether the original poster is in the Uk and whether his car is now fixed - I have only just picked up the thread - but I know of a garage in London that has fitted a number of new rear glass tailgates for I believe less than £1k. It is a used i3 specialist - Wisely Automotive.

For those who may have not picked up on a post that I made a couple of months, a simple tap on the tailgate glass screen can render the i3 unroadworthy as the rear lights are fused to the glass. If the glass shatters, as mine did, the lights will just fall out.
