BMW NA are offering incentives on the pure EV i3.

The current USA offer is a $2,000 "innovation credit" combined with 2.99% purchase finance or subvented lease offers. Rolling all the credits into a 3 year lease gives $369/month and $4000 cash at drive-off. 10,000 miles per year.

Could production be catching up with demand??

No i3 offers in the UK.

I was going to say something similar to the above, it seems more that they have either over estimated pure BEV demand or they really want to sell more of that particular variety in the US. Or a bit of both.

The Air Resources Board (CARB to those outside of California) provides incentives and penalties for making and failing to meet minimums... The i3 REX was a new BEVx category that BMW lobbied for and received. However, I wonder if they promised the ARB the ratio of BEV v REX that is somewhat imbalanced.
