In this post, I mentioned that I'd collated the material prices for some budget charge point options: Getting a home charger installed

Rather than clutter that thread up with off-topic stuff, I though I'd try and put the prices in a new thread. I've made some assumptions about the installation, just to simplify things a bit. I've assumed that the supply is TN-C-S/PME, so the charge point must have open PEN fault protection. I've assumed that the cable run from the meter to the charge point is 10m. Finally, I've assumed that a socket, either a Commando or a Type 2, is acceptable (tethered charge points are a bit more expensive).

These prices are only for materials, and don't include labour, as that will vary a bit depending on region and the ease, or otherwise, of running cables etc. I've included VAT, and tried to cross check the prices as best I can, but it's entirely possible that I've made some errors. I have a list of supplier websites I've used to get prices, and could add these if they would be useful to anyone.

Finally, installing a charge point is not really a DIY proposition unless you are a competent person, understand everything in BS7671:2018, have the required test gear to be able to ensure the installation is compliant and safe, and, in England and Wales, you obtain building regs approval under Part P. Failing to do the latter is a criminal offence, that can carry a hefty penalty.
