I unlocked the car this morning to access the boot then when locking again the headlights didn't turn off. I've driven 5 miles to a 7kw charger where the charger is going ok. But I still can't turn off the lights and have lost all charge info on the screens. See photos.
Any help please.

What settings do you have for your key, easy access on ? I've turned all mine off as the lights were constantly turning on and off every time I walked anywhere near the car with the key in my pocket. You should be able to manually disable the lights by turning auto off on the panel if you are sitting in the car while charging

Done that. No change.
I’d just call VW Assist. You’ve purchased an expensive new car with breakdown cover, so use it.

The problem is, by the time they get to you I think the problem will have resolved itself. Maybe finish your charge, move it and lock it up for 20 mins, see if it goes to sleep/resets.

I know this is an old thread. My ID.3 is/was a company car and is now being used by someone else. They had the same problem; the headlights were on and couldn’t be turned off. They called VW Assist, and the AA came out. They couldn’t fix it so it went back to a dealer. They were given a brand new Kona as a loan car! The dealer said they had to replace a part (unfortunately I don’t know what) which took over a week.

just sharing to help others.

I had something similar happen to me the other day, it seems to have sorted itself out.
We have had quite a lot of dark and gloomy days lately, and I wondered if that was anything to do with it.
What I did do was change the setting in the menu for the automatic lights, there are three settings (now this is where I may get the wording wrong) early, normal and late (I think) I set it too late.

The next time I drove my car it was dull, starting the drive the light were on, then they went off and later in my drive they came on again. That could have been because there was drizzle in the air and the wipers come on.
