I unlocked the car this morning to access the boot then when locking again the headlights didn't turn off. I've driven 5 miles to a 7kw charger where the charger is going ok. But I still can't turn off the lights and have lost all charge info on the screens. See photos.
Any help please.

What settings do you have for your key, easy access on ? I've turned all mine off as the lights were constantly turning on and off every time I walked anywhere near the car with the key in my pocket. You should be able to manually disable the lights by turning auto off on the panel if you are sitting in the car while charging

My car is Life with no remote locking.
I've turned off the auto function. See picture. But nothing I try turns off the lights.
The time and temp are also not showing and I've got a red and yellow triangle on the small screen.
Nightmare.

Hold down the power button on the infotainment screen till it restarts. Then see if anything resets. I had the reverse of this issue where my rear lights would not turn on.

Done that. No change.
I’d just call VW Assist. You’ve purchased an expensive new car with breakdown cover, so use it.

The problem is, by the time they get to you I think the problem will have resolved itself. Maybe finish your charge, move it and lock it up for 20 mins, see if it goes to sleep/resets.

Also notice that all the switches on the steering wheel have gone black (no lights and no clicks).
It's this an indication that the 12v battery is flat?

You could disconnect the 12V battery Earth for 10 mins & reconnect. Seems to be the standard hard reboot for all EVs as far as I can see!

Not if the headlights and screen are still powered up?

I give up.
Taking car back to the dealer this afternoon.
Hopefully they can sort it out quickly for you, it's a great car but it does seem to have a few teething issues.

Good news ... Got the car back with software updated to 0783. All is working fine so far after my 10 mile return home. Probably won't be driving for a while but will check out the functions over the next few days while sitting on the driveway.

I know this is an old thread. My ID.3 is/was a company car and is now being used by someone else. They had the same problem; the headlights were on and couldn’t be turned off. They called VW Assist, and the AA came out. They couldn’t fix it so it went back to a dealer. They were given a brand new Kona as a loan car! The dealer said they had to replace a part (unfortunately I don’t know what) which took over a week.

just sharing to help others.

I had something similar happen to me the other day, it seems to have sorted itself out.
We have had quite a lot of dark and gloomy days lately, and I wondered if that was anything to do with it.
What I did do was change the setting in the menu for the automatic lights, there are three settings (now this is where I may get the wording wrong) early, normal and late (I think) I set it too late.

The next time I drove my car it was dull, starting the drive the light were on, then they went off and later in my drive they came on again. That could have been because there was drizzle in the air and the wipers come on.
