I've been reading up on CanZE and its TPMS stuff, and it looks like what I would need to do to have our existing zoe 22 wheels swapped over to our upcoming Zoe 40 is to make a note of our 22 Ids, and then when they've been fitted to the new car, write them to that using CanZE. However, that leaves the dealer with a set of wheels on our old car that won't work, so I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that this whole thing works fine, so that I can basically do the same on the new cars wheels but on the old car for the dealer if he trusts me !!

First of all, check if your upcoming ZOE 40 does use TPMS valves. Our ZE40 didn't but used any difference in rotational speed between the wheels (from the ABS sensors) to detect a reduction in pressure on any of the wheels. It didn't display the actual pressures, but I'm not sure if that is a definitive indicator as to the approach used.
