I know this has happened to a couple of people. Charge cable plug will not release from charge port.

At the top of the plug is a latch which holds the plug in place

I managed to get the plug to release with a bit of wiggling (the plug not me)

The latch at the top was not operating every time when the orange handle was squeezed.

It needed dismantling!

First the top needs to be removed.

1. prise the top at the back

2.
It should just pop open.

3.
Push up to release the catch at the front.

4.
This should expose the mechanism.

Now you can see how it works.

I can't work out how to upload more than 6 pictures so I will do this in a few parts:-

This part of the mechanism seamed to all be functioning. So it was time to remove the bottom cover.

6.
There are 4 screws which hold the bottom cover in place. One each side at the front. and one each side at the rear.

7.
Push the bottom cover off

Wait a minuet! What's that white bit roiling around in the orange lever? That needs looking at

9.
Prise the clips either side of the orange lever

10.
It just dropped out.

Now we can see what is going on.

The roller is supposed to be in a vee notch in the orange lever. When the lever is squeezed it operates the metal bellcrank lever which in turn released the latch.

12.
Over time the metal bellcrank lever must bend and eventually it leaves enough of a gap for the roller to fall out.

16.JPG

Bend the leaver out a bit to ensure that the roller does not fall out again.

13.

Reassemble is the reverse of the dismantle.

14.

Test

Oh yeh

As good as new.

Sit back and gloat over how much you have just saved. :)

I hope this helps others.
