I understand you can charge the Ampera at 6A, 10A, 13A and 16A (please correct me if I'm wrong)

What are the charge times from "flat" for the above ampages ?

I did try to search for the answer but was told:

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: time charge."

The charging cable that comes with the car allows charging at 6A and 10A. The only other charging you might come across is 16A using a home charging pod or some public charging. Public charging at 16A requires the purchase of a different cable... a Type 1 to Type 2 cable at about £250. Most Ampera owners I suspect won't bother with that cable as charging will mostly be done overnight at home.

The battery takes about 12kWh from empty so charging times are approximately:

6A = 1380W so charging time would be approx 9:00hrs
10A = 2300W so charging time would be approx 6:00hrs
16A = 3680W so charging time would be approx 4:00hrs

Assumes empty at start of charge and mains voltage of 230V.

The search on this forum software will not allow certain common words. Sorry about that

Perhaps us owners could maintain an Ampera FAQ to cover questions like this?
