I seem to remember some time ago there was talk about MacDonalds installing rapid chargers at their sites. Since then, it's gone very quiet - has this been abandoned?

Two Instavolt Rapids recently appeared at a McD's in Southport.

I've used a few around the country, always Instavolt and they've always been brilliant.

The e-Up is CCS, isn't it?

Check the excellent Wattsup twitter feed. They do a monthly update of new chargers. I can see 2 new McDonald's site in June.

Do a search on the local planning portal and see if there are any applications in the pipeline.

There are around 1,300 McDonald’s restaurants in the UK, not all are drive throughs, and last month 2 had chargers installed, so it could take a very long time to see chargers at a restaurant near you, if at all.

Yesterday I did a google search on "Instavolt McDonalds" and it bought up a full list (with map) of all the locations in the UK (as far as I can tell) which was about 20 or so... (1.75 pages of results etc..)

Yeah it's CCS, but the newer high power InstaVolt chargers have a bug where they don't complete the handshake correctly with e-Up! vehicles.

That's useful to know (if not very good) as it may apply also my wife's SEAT Mii. Fortunately it won't be used for long trips much.

Top up on a Friday and have a sneaky burger at the same time. Only takes about 30 mins

I'd heard that we would soon be able to get a charge at Burger King too, but that turned out to be a whopper.
