I need to travel occasionally to Hatfield, sometimes will be staying overnight so want to find some destination charging within a few miles of Mosquito Way, Hatfield. I have a Source East card, but the Hatfield charging stations listed as part of the Source East Network, are apparently not for public use according to University of Herts. It seems to be a relative drought - apart from the phony 'public' Source East points that aren't!

There is a Nissan dealer, Glyn Hopkin a few miles down the road with a rapid - but some destination charging within a 10-20 minute walk would be truly awesome, especially if 24x7 accessible. Odd the Galleria has nothing, not that I could find anyway.

Have pinged my usual hotels: Beales, and Ramada Hatfield to see if they can offer anything to plug in to when I do stay over.

Any other ideas in the area?

Well, some more positive information from a few more probing emails.

It appears that 7kW charging is available at University of Herts, "The Forum" and it is publicly accessible - £3 to park all day. I also had an enthusiastic email back from Chris, the GM at Beales Hotels so heads up to @Cara Naden @Kevin Sharpe - expect an enquiry about ZCW charge stations. Completely uninformed about EVs by self-admission, but interested to learn more and see if its something they can offer :)

More news in from Ramada Hatfield. The GM there says he has regularly suggested this to the owners, but this is the first time a guest has requested it. If anyone else does, or would use the hotel if it had charging then get in touch - he's interested to hear from other potential guests with electric cars to add weight to his case.
