Hi
we have just leashed the new Renault Zoe R110 52 kWh.

We had installed a Wallbox Pulser Plus charger at home. This will not connect to the Zoe to charge it. After several attempts we get "Battery Charging Impossible" message. It connects for a few seconds and then rejects the charger.

My friend has a Tesla and we plug it in to our Wallbox charger and it worked perfectly. This make us believe it is the car not the charger. Wallbox Support has been very helpful, but they too are stuck.

Does anybody else have same charging issue with the new Zoe?

any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

It would appears hundreds of people have had the BCI error.

Can you try taking it to a public AC Chargepoint and see if it will charge there successfully?
It may be that the earthing connection to the chargepoint at home isn't good enough for Zoe. It's super picky compared to other cars so this is a fairly common complaint that Zoe owners have, and not really surprising that your friend has managed to charge a Tesla no problem.

IF You can't get a successful charge elsewhere either, I would be inclined to agreee with Donald's suggestion above and simply reject the car rather than messing about trying to fight to have the car or chargepoint sorted to make the two work together.

We had the same issue with our chargemaster and after a bit of investigation our domestic supply was found to be at fault. If you have looked at all other issues (including other charge points) contact and explain the problem to UK Power Networks and they'll then pop out to test your supply, our voltage was fluctuating 20v which the car wouldn't accept. They'd fixed the issue within a few days, super service 👍
