Hi All

I had a question about charging using a 3 pin plug socket, which as I understand can be done up to 3kw, but my little British gas meter monitor shows that the car is charging at 2.3kw when plugged in. My question is that, is it actually possible to charge at 3kw using a 3 pin plug socket or is 2.3kw the max?

Thanks

Possible, but not adviseable. The plug may overheat at 3kw.

Maybe try 8 Amps (1.9kw), as I find it packs in more energy than 16Amps to my 22kwh Fluence.

Most 3 pin chargers that ship with cars are rated at 2.4 kW / 10A at 240VAC.

Most house wiring Agile rated at 13A isn’t really for sustained usage over hours.

2400 kW is normal for granny chargers
