When switching off my wife's new 4+ and opening the door we get a "Check Rear Seats" warning. I'm assuming this is because the Easy access function is moving the seat backwards but we didn't get this on our previous Niro hybrid FE which also had the easy access function.
Disabling the Easy Access doesn't appear to prevent the warning coming up though.

Can anyone please confirm this is normal and not a "real" warning about the rear seats themselves?

Many thanks
Dave

Thanks all for replies so far.
The rear occupancy alert can be turned off in the settings.
Not sure if the 4+ e-niro has this feature but will check, although the warning looks the same there is no "OK" option and no one was in the rear.
are the rear seat belts fastened
I've tried both fastened and not and no difference. Also checked the electrical connector to the seat base in the boot and all looked fine. And checked seat backs are fully locked in place
I'm 99% sure it's to do with the Easy Access because it only triggers as you open the drivers door and the seat starts moving back but it doesn't happen all the time. It may be linked to if the rear door has been opened or not though - I need to test. Strange though that disabling Easy Access didn't seem to stop the warning.
We've only had the car a week so I wonder if it may also be down to software version (it was fully updated including latest infotainment "purple" versions - Anyone with a recent car getting the same message aaprt from just Bill the Kid and us ?

SOLVED :D
Just tried lots of options and found that it's not directly connected to Easy Access although is triggered by the drivers door opening but only if -
  • Rear Seat Occupancy Warning in Settings - Convenience is enabled
AND
  • A rear door has been opened
Locking the car afterwards resets the warning so it will only occur again if a rear door is opened again.

There is no Ultrasonic detection on the E-Niro 4+ it's just a normal led light fitting in the roof

Completely missed the setting option so now disabled. Don't even believe it's in the manual either (perhaps no surprise ;))

Thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.:)
